Kelp monitoring survey and workshop

RPA is supporting the Environment Agency (EA) with the collation of data on kelp monitoring and research as part of the Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) programme.  RPA’s work covers running an online survey to collate information on kelp monitoring, research and knowledge of sites. We are also identifying which stakeholders are involved with kelp and whether they are interested in future collaborations.  Our work additionally includes facilitating a workshop on kelp for experts from various fields (e.g. academics, NGOs, research institutes and arm’s length bodies). Information from the survey and workshop is being used to produce a report, which will inform the EA’s work to develop a proposed national kelp monitoring programme.
