About the role:

We are seeking a senior consultant to support the Environment & Society team in delivering and growing our portfolio of work. Our mission is to help clients create a better environment and society.

As a senior consultant, you will probably have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within .
  • Background in ecology, ecological sciences or environmental sciences.
  • A proven track record of winning work and supporting on the full project lifecycle, including tender preparation, for impact assessments, studies and/or evaluations using UK and/or EU guidelines.
  • Experience of applying social research methods drawing on both quantitative and qualitative evidence within ecology and environmental services (statistics, ecological data, biodiversity).
  • Experience of supporting impact assessments and/or evaluations according to UK and/or EU guidelines.
  • Project management skills and experience of leading relevant projects for public sector clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and proven ability to deliver high quality reports.

Additional skills that are desirable include:

  • Familiarity with natural capital accounting, ecosystem services, natural resource issues, environmental economics.
  • Ability to create innovative methodologies to meet clients’ needs.
  • Experience of line management and contributing to business development.
  • Demonstrable skills in stakeholder engagement including ability to develop and run workshops, focus groups and semi-structured interviews with a range of stakeholders from government departments and agencies through to local organisations and community groups.
  • Experience of identifying potential work and developing proposals to bid for work.
  • One or more EU languages besides English.

Salary and benefits

RPA operates a transparent pay policy and pay is based on relevant experience. The senior consultant level starts at £35,500.

When you want to be in the office, you will be based at either our head office in Norwich or one of our hubs (we have hubs in London, Cambridge, North West and the South West (Bristol area)).
