About the role:

We are seeking a consultant to support the Environment & Society team in delivering and growing our portfolio of work. Our mission is to help clients create a better environment and society.

As a consultant, you will probably have:

  • 2 years minimum experience in
  • Background in ecology, ecological sciences or environmental sciences
  • Experience of supporting impact assessments and/or evaluations according to UK and/or EU guidelines
  • Experience of applying research methods drawing on both quantitative and qualitative evidence (statistics, ecological data, biodiversity)
  • Some project management skills and experience of s for public sector clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and proven ability to deliver high quality reports

Additional skills that are desirable include:

  • Familiarity with natural capital accounting, ecosystem services, natural resource issues, environmental economics
  • Ability to and support in the development of innovative methodologies to meet clients’ needs
  • Demonstrable skills in stakeholder engagement including ability to develop and run workshops, focus groups and semi-structured interviews with a range of stakeholders from government departments and agencies through to local organisations and community groups
  • Experience of identifying potential work and developing proposals to bid for work

Salary and benefits

RPA operates a transparent pay policy and pay is based on relevant experience. The consultant level starts at £28,500.
