SCC Water Scarcity

Risk & Policy Analysts (RPA) has been contracted by Suffolk County Council to carry out a dedicated economic analysis to quantify the current and potential future economic costs of water scarcity in Norfolk and Suffolk. This work is in response to the need for a greater understanding of how water scarcity impacts the local economy.  More information is required on the links between water stress and key growth sectors, food production, and environmental resilience.  The study will build on local strategies and plans, climate data, and the expertise of stakeholders involved with economic development and environmental management across Norfolk and Suffolk. It will provide information to feed into future planning and decision making, to help ensure critical vulnerabilities and opportunities for investment or policy change are picked up. The analysis will support policy development, as well as strengthen business cases for infrastructure investment, resilience measures, and sustainable water management.
