Process Evaluation of Marine Licensing and Nature-based Solutions

RPA and ABPmer are conducting a process evaluation of the marine licensing system to support the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) in considerations for integrating Nature Based Solutions in marine licensing.  This study aims to explore and understand the potential benefits and challenges for integrating Nature-Based Solutions as part of the MMO’s licensing processes.  Nature-Based Solutions are defined as “actions to protect, sustainably manage, and restore natural and modified ecosystems that address societal challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously benefiting people and nature” (IUCN ).
